LABYRINTHS
Duncan Center Offers Two
Labyrinths for Meditation
We offer monthly guided Labyrinth walks open to the
public. See our CALENDAR for dates.
Outdoor Labyrinth
Our outdoor labyrinth is located in a quiet corner
bordered by gardens, and a golf course, at the juncture of the two dorm
buildings. A spiraling red brick path leads you into your spiritual journey.
Duncan Center Director Fr. Steve Fregeau envisioned the labyrinth. Two
landscape artists, Steve and Michele Benner of St. Joseph's Boynton Beach,
designed the site. Many donations made the project possible: notably St.
Gregory's Church in Boca Raton which donated over 5,500 bricks. The plants for
landscaping were given by local businesses. A new outdoor chapel will be
located next to the labyrinth. A limited number of bricks in the pathway that
surrounds the labyrinth may be purchased for $50 and dedicated with a short
commemorative message. To purchase a brick, call the Duncan Center at
561-496-4130.
Indoor Labyrinth
Our new indoor labyrinth in the Schofield Chapel, donated
by David and Karen Gury, is 35-feet in diameter, and made of green and beige
granite. A recent article in the Palm Beach Post describes the story of this
donation in this way: Couple donates to
